Hi, I'm new to this so bear with me please!

I recently dusted off my A500+ after it spending quite some time in my parents loft! On plugging it in nothing happened other than 10 short flashes and 1 long on the green power LED. From a bit of research I think this means that there is something up with the RAM. I have a 1MB ram expansion in the expansion bay and read somewhere that is is possible to use this as the system RAM and bypass the RAM on the circuit board. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so is it something a novice with a soldering iron might be able to achieve?

Thanks for any help with this.

Hi,

Have you already opened it?
Look at the battery side for leaking damage.

Thanks for your reply.
I have opened it - didn't spot the battery - will have to open it up again and look more carefully!

The battery is usually located on the RAM expansion card that's in the trapdoor.

Look for a furry green "growth" creeping across the board
