a500 boot selector issues

Hi all,

Hopefully someone has had the same issue I'm having and will point out that I'm doing something wrong or stupid. So I have a gotek which I want to connect externally and use a boot selector to swap it from df1 to df0.

I purchased a boot selector and an external cable (links below)

I didnt follow the instructions that came with the cable as they are the bending the pins on CIA to swap the SEL0 and SEL1.

I put in the boot selector with just my internal amiga floopy connected and the switch is position 1 and workbench boots fine. Plug in the gotek externally (s0 jumpered) and I just get the gotek LCD coming on and the Amiga purple boot screen, no internal disk activity from the floppy. If I run the gotek in place of the internal floppy the gotek works. If I flip the switch to position 2 to turn the gotek into df0 and cut off the internal floppy I just get a gray screen - no video is outputted.

So I figured this out, the cable to the gotek has to go upside down (notch facing up) when using the cable I bought.
