Also just interested in people having a AA3000+ by Hese and how well it works compared to a real A3000 .

I have both AA3000+ and A3000.

They feel very similar in regular use when both have the stock 030 due to the flickerfixer circuits and scsi. AGA on the AA3000+ works identically to 1200 or 4000. The DSP is a WIP but it has been proven to work - it’ll be very a interesting once software is written to take use of it as it has the compute power of a 50mhz 060.

The addition of PCI makes the AA3000+ a much more expandable system than the 3000 but you’d have to upgrade the cpu to take advantage of the more worthwhile pci cards. That said, a Voodoo3 and pci NIC with just the 030 works well.

An A3000 with a bridgeboard making use of the ISA slots is a superb system and is significantly different to the sort of system you might build around an AA3000+

overall they are somewhat similar when stock but the AA3000+ has much greater expansion potential. It would be difficult to choose between a 3000 and AA3000+, but in a choice between 4000 and AA3000+ then the AA3000+ would win easily.

Thanks for the comment - not much public information about the AA3000+ . For many years, I wanted a A4000, but I'm realizing how nicer the A3000D case looks like, and I'm a sucker for aesthetics here too. With the AGA working identically to 1200/4000, and with built-in switch for RTG/ RGB scandoubled - I'm sold :)

The trouble is getting an A3000 case to house the new AA3000+ motherboard and busboard.

Yep - that video is what spawned my interest originally. Yeah, no matter what I need to find a A3000D caset, so question is if anyone out there has one with an already fitted ++ for sale, or if I have to buy a regular A3000D to replace the motherboard.
