Hi all, does anybody know if there was ever a serious accounts package for the amiga ie to do accounts for a small business? Now the amiga is up to speed i want use it for my accounts instead of this dastardly laptop.

I wouldn't say they are good but there are a few packages out there.

Accountant
Account Master 2
HomeAccounts

And of course most spreadsheet programs will do basic accounting.

Now, that is commitment. I never thought that anyone would want to use an Amiga to keep their books.
Let us know how you find it for day to day use. I am genuinely interested.

Do you need full cash/accrual - ap/ar subledger accounting system? If yes, you choices will be very limited. If you don't then you have a lot more options.

I remember 2 full accounting systems for the Amiga. Phasar was one and I can't remember the name of the other. I still have phasar buried in a mix of stuff if you want me to drag it out and try to answer questions on it.
The other system that I will remember someday, is a business AR, AP, GL, BD cash/accrual system . Phasar is a decent accounting system think it is only cash basis.

The best home accouning software I found and use to this day is CheckItOut. It was only a few dollars and can read quickbook cio files. I really like this software, it has a very fast input engine, a decent budget and reporting system. I like it because it can generate standard revenue/expense and balance sheets. It is very vast to use for entry and reporting. It isn't sexy, it's not MUI and no graphing, but you will not find a better home accounting system, it has it where it counts...
Only problem is that I don't think the author supports it, sad don't think it sold very well (I was the 20th registered user...)

thanks for this info, I will let you all know how I get on:)

Did you ever implement one?

The other full accounting system, I couldn't remember in Feb, was easy ledger. It is the only subledger accounting software package I have found for the Amiga.

I bought Phasar ver 4. It isn't a full subledger accounting software package and the reporting is weak. Don't recommend it.

Test a bunch off of Aminet and picked up a few. CheckItOut is still the best for home accounting. It isn't full accounting, if you want full accounting (AR, AP, Subledger, etc.) get easy ledger.

I stuck with CheckItOut and may use Easy Ledger 1 for other uses. (Trying to find EL 2)...
