Hi All,
I have a C128D (plastic case with the internal metal encased power power supply), not the DCR, that looks as though the 9v side of the power supply is no longer working, although the 5v side still is.
The machine powers up to a black screen (in all modes) and shows the same fault with a replacement motherboard. Apparently, if the 9v supply fails, the machine still powers on because the 5v supply is still working, but the Z80 does not get any power so the boot process fails. This is a apparently a pretty common failure point.
Does anybody know if there are alternative replacement power supplies available for this machine or is there a way of building a replacement?
Cheers
Mark
