Hiyas, I was wondering if there is a good alternative to PhotoBucket right now. I haven't searched for a different one thoroughly, but it seems that PhotoBucket is getting heavier and heavier, too many irrelevant options for my taste, ads etc. I would like it to be as plain as possible, just upload some pics and that's all, without too much fancy stuff and menus. Do you have any suggestions?

Try postimage.org mate, I use its and its very minimal, the way I like it :)

I quite like dropbox. You get 2gb free, and you can stash all kinds of goodies in there. You get a folder called "public" which allows you to share stuff.

There is also a windows app that will synch a dropbox folder on your local system to the (i'm gonna have to say it, sorry)... the "Cloud".

As it isn't centered around photos as such, there is no built in photo crop/zoom, but the Android Dropbox app can upload photos you take on your phone, so they whiz up to "the cloud" and back to your PC... (probably other fruity flavours of app exist too). I love this bit as I can take a photo and it appears on my PC ready for editing, often before I can close the camera app down on my phone.

I just found out that postimage isn't free. Well, I can live with that (for how long I dunno).

Ohh, I dont pay or sign in to it at all, I just upload my images and link to them

No problem mate, it's just what I wanted really. Very simple and very plain.

nothing beats imgur.com

no watermarks, no ads, no server downtime, easy direct link, easy upload, 2mb limit and... free.

And, unlike Photobucket, it doesn't seem to have delusions of being a pointless social networking tool. :p

Seconding imgur.com - it offers a good service.

Dropbox is brilliant. You take photos on your phone and they're automatically available for sharing. I have a Photoshop macro for resizing and tweaking.

I still use tinypic, can't be simpler, browse for image, enter captcha and upload. No login needed and it generates links for forums websites etc..

i use postimg and sign in and its free for me

Are you sure it's free? Actually it seems to be, but your uploaded images will be deleted if 6 months pass without any view (that's the restriction I think).

Haven't started usng it yet, but Flickr has 1tb storage free. Don't know how many irellevant features it has tho.

Ive been using flickr for about 3 years, been happy with it, just seems to work fine for me.
