My 2 sound cards and the onboard card gave up the ghost a few days back(the 2 cards were old and the on board was never any good anyway) so i decided to have a crack at an external USB sound card.
I bought a one from ebay that was 7.1 and it was really cheap (uk posted as i dont trust anything from china and that area)
Anyway what an amazing bit of kit i have to say. What i expected was poor sound and no support for it or at least very little. Linux knows it and worked like a charm and so did windows XP. The sound i got out of it has been very high quality. I played some modern games using it like Call of duty modern warfare 3, Bastion and such and the sound was rich and vibrant. Some can be said for when you use it in Linux too.
I still cant believe how good it is and i am always listening for anything wrong with the sound but its doing its job very well.
So 2 thumbs up from me for this little USB sound card its freaking awesome
