Hi,

IMG_0245.jpg

I'm looking at an Amiga 1000 keyboard that has Commodore keys rather than Amiga keys. I can't find any references to this online. Does anyone know more about this?

Ta.

EDIT:

More details as I've poked around it a bit more...

Compared to the other 1000 keyboard I have, and everything I can find online, this one has:

- two commodore keys, one a solid C=, one an outline (slightly green?) C=
- the PCB seems to be reversed - the components are soldered underneath rather than on top
- there is no metal RF shield and no screw holes for one to attach
- there is no plastic insulation sheet, possibly because the PCB layout doesn't leave solder joints underneath the keys
- the switches are different, still, I believe, Misumi, but with a round stem part and a separate spring under the caps
- the clips for the stabiliser bars are different too - smaller
- the base plate isn't rusty in the places where the paint has come off
- the case has been painted, hard to tell when
- the case is missing the check mark, don't know if this is related to the paint job
- there are no labels or serial numbers, though, like the check mark, I suppose there may once have been

My A1000 keyboard has the red solid A on the left, red outline A on the right. I haven't been inside it, but I have a rainbow check mark top right front. The serial number pad zone on the underside does not seem to have had any label (no glue remnants). It has a shallow flat 'ditch' above the main F-key row. Escape (left) and Del (right) are slightly spaced off the F-Key row. Underside, the 4 screws have clear cover stickers, and the 4 square 'resting pads' have since departed.

All the A1000 keyboards I have or I have seen have been of similar construction, the only difference being the localized markings on the keys themselves. Could you take a photo of yours for us to examine?

never seen any A1000-Keyboard with C= -Keys... but i noticed that some have blue'ish imprints whereas some keys are having brown'ish text printed on... and of course the stickers which are sometimes placed to "convert" the keyboard to a different layout.

I thought I'd posted a reply with a link to some photos, but it's nowhere to be found. I've now updated my original post to include it.

Well, that is certainly different from any I have seen. Could it be some kind of third party product? Can you please add a photo or two showing the entire thing?
