I am the original owner of this Amiga. I bought it new in the summer of 1987. It was a magical time...

I was going to go through and retrobrite it, re-cap it, put in a Kickstart ROM switcher, get a GoTek and maybe even a Parceiro board...
But I stepped back and decided that it's now time to say goodbye to my Amiga after 35 years.

As I set up the system and checked it out, the Amiga logos, the visible dots of the monitor image, and the sound of the disk drives caused memories to come flooding back on the time I spent with my Amiga between 1987 and 1989 in a way that UAE can't:
I wrote my Master's thesis in TeX using the DME editor on it, used it as a terminal to access mainframe computers for my research, played many fun games with school friends and family, programmed different things in AmigaBASIC and C, generated many Mandelbrot sets, drew pictures with Deluxe Paint, and marvelled over what the Amiga could do back then.

Snap back from the late 1980's to the present... let's get into what's included. The system has:
  • 256K RAM plus the 256K Internal RAM expansion in front for a total of 512K in the computer
  • Amiga 1010 External 3.5" floppy disk drive. The eject button is missing but the drive works - eject the disk with a popsicle stick (included.) I could not find a 3d print file for the button, so I left it at that.
  • DATEL DX1000 External 3.5" floppy disk drive. This drive is quieter than the Amiga 1010 drive.
  • Expansion Technologies Escort 2 expansion with 1MB RAM installed, for a system total of 1.5 mb of RAM. The manual is available online.
  • Amiga 1080 monitor with cable and audio cable. The display works fine. The monitor sound works but drops/scratchy out at some settings, my guess is that the pot probably needs to be replaced. The sound is fine from the Amiga if played to external amplified speakers for example.
  • Tank style serial Amiga mouse. This is not original to the computer, it is the later version with the straight plug. I looked for my original mouse for years before finally giving up and getting a replacement mouse.
  • 2 generic 2 button joysticks.
  • Original Amiga 1000 Keyboard with cable. Both snap down feet are present. One of the rubber feet is gone, the other fell off but is included. The keyboard has more yellowing than the rest of the system. I held off on Retrobriting as many vintage computing aficianados do it, but some prefer not to.
  • Parallel printer cable. Again, I couldn't test the parallel port as I don't have a parallel printer.
Disks:
Kickstart 1.2 boot disks and several Workbench/CLI/App/Game disks are included that work. I'm including other disks that I couldn't read, but perhaps you can. These disks are over 30 years old, so not surprising. Maybe cleaning and aligning the drives would help, I did not do that.

I tested the Amiga over about a month (nostalgia hit so I um.. may have spent more time playing with it -- I mean testing -- that I really needed to) and everything works:
  • the mouse and keyboard and joysticks work.
  • The floppy drives read and write disks and will format disks.
  • The serial port works.
  • I did not test the parallel port as I had gotten rid of the last of my parallel printers some time ago.
The Amiga system has no mods or changes. I'm pretty sure that if I ever opened it, it was just to see to see the signatures on the inside of the case. It's certainly never been touched by a soldering iron.

I am asking $1800 plus shipping costs.
If within reasonable distance of the NY Metro/Tri State area we can discuss local pickup. Want to sell in USA as the shipping to Europe/Australia/etc. would probably be a hassle and too expensive, unless you can persuade me otherwise.
I have not packed it up yet in order to answer any questions about the Amiga, additional pictures you may want to see, or if it's going to be a local pickup.

If you are not picking it up I'll need some time to pack it for shipping. As you know it's quite a job to pack a CRT so that it survives the trip.

Edit: Here a couple of videos of this Amiga: One shows it formatting a floppy in DF1: which is the Amiga 1010 drive, and the other is the game Ebonstar.
