Amiga 1000 Tank Mouse Optical Conversion?

Has anyone been able to get one of these kits working for an A1000 tank mouse from Amigastore? Seems like this kit is for the A500 mouse with a different track ball cover on the bottom, but thought it could be modified? Is the pinout the same for both mice as well for the connector?

Not sure about the A1000 mouse but I got one of these kits for the A1200/A4000 mouse and I can tell you the new bottom cover was so shitty I ended up modifying something a bit (don't remember the details any more) to be able to put the original cover back on.
The new cover is made of some soft plastic crap and the thickness was uneven to the extent it obstructed the mouse gliding nicely after mounting.



The sensor does work quite nicely tho, no complaints there.

I got one for my CDTV - that uses an A600 mouse.
I agree that the base was not good - 3d resin printed.

So I designed a new one for mine and printed it myself
