im looking for an Amiga 1200/us/ntsc/110v
im also looking to put 128MB ram on it / is there anyway to increase chip ram? im surprised no one has created a chipram extension for this type, chipram would help the operating system and gui operate much more efficiently and would also allow for greater resolutions @ display and more colours to display at once. i know i know (it cant be done or regarding the system, it doesnt need it) yes it does. with the proper drivers or "codec" installed in the operating system, we could benefit from more chip ram. more chip ram also means greater bandwidth on board/controllers/ide/scsi. this also means higher bus rate and thorough through (overall bus rate) and less operating unit needed to make something run, like a 060 with ppc is needed for quake to run decent, you would only need an 030 or 020 with ppc (id say 030) we'll say about 24MB chip ram. fast ram is good for programs, not for bus, also seperate drivers for the aga display chip would be smart with seperate memory allocated for graphics(i know what i said earlier, however the motherboards on amigas count chip ram towards that particular category, graphics.) so lets ad 128MB on board chip ram, 24MB for the aga is more than enough, 128 for general board usage is just right. anyways
im loking for an expander/accelerator with 128mbs ram and an 060. i also read that an 040 is a 486, so what does that make the 60? a 586? anyways 060/128MB
next i am looking for ppc, what i want is a qoriq i found for 128$ fitted on a ppc expander, its the same one they are overcharging for the x5000, if not a qoriq, an e5500 or so, standard.
and 3d graphics card, im not looking for a tower, if i tower i have to use pci, what fun is that? isnt there a way to build a pci slot with cable to we'll say scsi or ide? theres gotta be a way to interface cards over on a run cable instead of all that nonsence, also i know that the crew who built the vampire are build an a1200 type. i dont like those because they ****ing disconnect the main cpu, whoever heard of a vampire disconnecting from their victims? they take over they maintain control even after turning someone. im just saying, they could have build a place for the 68k and built a direct address register for the type to run on board (i know, bandwidth, clock speed, etc. nonsence theats why handlingworks, they could tell the handling, the 68k sits at we'll say cf000, and the cyclone who is at cf000, could be told to sit at cf001 either through handling or through internal response, and yes handling on the way back out can check for both and redirect one of the 2 to a new adress handler, and at least, leave the 68k up first and use it for base comp, such as the os and the gui, now all the vamp has to do is run programs) i its a compat level instruction set, its compatible with the 68k direct, why not use it and upclock the 68k?(overclocking forces rate and tic/clock cycle up)(upclocking ramps rate and tic/clock cycle up and is always stable... except for heat contention, which now the heatsinc with fan is ok, why not watercool? or get a larger heatsinc and fan? point is we could be sitting so much higher up on clock with the 68k on its own)
im also looking for a means to dvi/hdmi output if not output from rgb to my lcd monitors however, the way things work unfortunately rgb isnt good enough for high resolution so im stuck somewhere in the 1300 level of resolution if i dont get sometype of higher end graphic output or connection.
to revamp
a1200/us/ntsc/110v 128mb ram/060/ppc graphics card
im looking for around 350-400$usd
i know the market has prices jacked, i know ppcs are expensive as for the rest it shouldnt be too bad
the ppc is optional however i want room for one.
id also need the system disks and id like to upgrade to 3.5 maybe 3.9 i hear 3.9 is slow.
i cant aford an x1000 or an x5000
i dont own an amiga, i owned a c64 till she died
i could never afford an amiga and by the time i could they were in a ghost town somewhere
my parents were poor, and $2000 was far too much to pay for a new computer, when we have one that works (c64)
youd be helping me out in getting setup into something that means alot more to me than you could know.
id dont have alot of cash, id like to get this built for 300-350. im sure i have to spend money later on
i also know im new here, however like i said youd be helping me out.
