So I've just come into possession of an Amiga 2500 - but only the machine itself. I have a mouse and monitor I can use, so that's no big deal, but what I don't have is a keyboard. Obviously, this is something I need. (Just offhand, the connector is physically identical to the AT/XT keyboard connector - it wouldn't happen to be compatible with either, would it?)

Anyway, the ones on eBay are about $** including S&H, so I just want to see if anybody here has a spare they'd be willing to let go for less?

I've removed the price reference as it is price driving. You can declare the price range you are willing to pay though.

Okay, sorry. I'd prefer not to pay more than $45 counting the shipping cost; ideally, somewhere around $25 for the keyboard itself, but I'm open to other offers.

Have you thought about one of the Lyra 2 PS/2 keyboard adapters? I think it is in the price range you are looking for and gives greater flexibility. :)

Good luck with the search.

I've considered it, but I much prefer using an appropriate keyboard with my older computers (unless we're talking, say, a PCjr and its godawful chicklet keyboard.) If the adapter isn't significantly cheaper than my asking price, then I might as well just go ahead and order one from another site.

even though its a 5 pin din pc keyboards wont work, well not without an adapter
Do you know whether PC/AT keyboards won't work, PC/XT keyboard won't work, or both? From pinouts.ru, the electrical arrangement appears to be identical, so I assume the only difference is in the serial protocol and/or scancodes.

 I prefer the original keyboards as well so I completely understand. For Mice, I'd much rather use an optical.

I dunno, I've always preferred ball mice, both for the weight/feel and for the fact that they don't go completely insane when they wear out (nothing like playing Quake and suddenly finding yourself staring at the ceiling and spinning in circles!) But hey, diff'rent strokes and all that ;)

Anyway, I'm waiting on a shipping estimate from six981, but Michigan is nice and close, so that'll hopefully work out.

Payment received, will let you know when it ships.

I think we need to leave the thread open for feedback purposes :)
