In a box of old stuff, I found paperwork for my Amiga 3000 purchase in 1990 through the Commodore Educational Purchase Plan. It included a serial number, CA100515, so I'm curious if my original Amiga is still out there somewhere.

I sold it about 20+ years ago when I had a chance to get an A3000T. The included picture is from 1999. She was painted black with a red button when sold. Inside, the drive bay was modified to fit the fan & heat sink on a CSPPC that I was using. So only the left floppy bay was used. Since she was an early 25mhz model, she had a ROM tower. The 2nd A3000 picture is circa 2001 and shows with the lid off. You can see the hole in the drive bay, and apparently I rigged something to get an elevated HD in there.

If you have this A3000, let me know.

Wow, that would be awesome if you were able to hunt it down! Have you tried tracing the steps from who you sold it to, or was is it just some random sale?

I've been looking for info, but have not turned up anything how/when/where it was sold. The last photo of it was circa 2001. It would be amazing to find intact, even if not working. It may not be black anymore, if stripped and repainted. If someone had multiple A3000s, it could have become a donor or recipient for donor parts. My drive-bay hack was pretty distinctive. Finding the original receipt with the serial number is what really spurred the search. If anything changed its appearance, the serial number could ID it. So I've looked at numbers on A3000 listings, even if they weren't black.
