Replace it with a button battery holder..

:coffee:

Neutralize the area with lemon juice or spirit vinegar: that battery leaked all over the area.

Then wash the vinegar/lemon juice with water, then finish with some IPA.

Not doing that will make this A4000 another defunct Amiga in some time not far from now.

gentlemen, thank you

few more questions, can i ?

lemon juice? special recipe or just couple of lemons, squeezed, strained through so no peeps and using cotton buds clean the affected area?

Strained, mildly heated if you like. Poured directly over the affected area.

Then use a fibreglass pen to expose the copper under the green varnish, then lemon again to finish the neutralization of hydroxides on the copper traces.

Then wash with tap water, then finally POUR IPA over the area to expel the water, then a couple of days in a vented cupboard OR half an hour of hairdrier action (vented cupboard does not consume electricity). ;-)

After all this job, check traces with multimeter and if all is good, time to some new lacquer or even uncoloured nail varnish.

Yes. I prefer those types that already have replaceable tips, but for a one-time job that one seems perfect.
