Slowly continuing to thin out my collection. This is the second of my Amiga 4000 desktop systems. This one is missing the empty drive bay covers & for some reason the floppy drive doesn't sit flush with the front panel. I tried to align it better but the screw holes just don't line up. I'm assuming this is an aftermarket drive that was converted for use in an Amiga, or otherwise designed for a different system.
I originally acquired this one with two others, one of which has already been sold and one I'm keeping. My plan was to recap & refurbish them all and build them all out, but I don't have time for one A4000 let alone three and all the other retro gear I own. Here are some observations:
- The front panel is fairly yellow. The rest of the case is in reasonable condition.
- The rubber feet from the bottom are missing.
- Original battery is intact and has NOT leaked. No evidence of any leakage or corrosion on the motherboard.
- RAM clips all appear to be intact (I didn't poke around too much thought, didn't want to break any of them)
- I fitted the CPU card with standoffs as it was just sitting unsupported. Took lots of pictures during the computer tear down and reassembly process.A
- It has 3.0 ROMS but I don't have the 3.0 disks. I attempted to install 3.1 just to test it out, but apparently one of my disks has bad blocks and couldn't complete the process. I was able to boot from the floppy and repartition / format the giant 121mb hard drive.
- 16MB RAM
- CPU only - does not include keyboard, mouse, monitor, cables, etc.
Asking $850 plus shipping and Paypal fees. Shipping only to the USA and Canada for now.
Thanks.
