Hi All,

Just to let everyone know i have built the 4mb/8mb fastmem board for the Amiga 500. Below are a couple of pictures. The A500+ is running kickstart 3.1 and this particular board has 4mb fitted (I wanted to get it built ASAP and tested) 8mb will work fine. I will be selling it, i am waiting for more chips, as it was, i had to steal the Xilinx chip from my other ide board. This board should work with the A1000 and A2000, (CDTV without the autoconfig ram)

Price will be $74 CAD for 8mb version and $64 for 4mb version, and i will now accept pre-orders (no payment yet please)

UPDATE; 9th Nov. I have now updated my webpage with the most up to date info. Please check it out and hopefully it will answer most of any questions you may have.

Here is list of names of people who declared interest. Orders are either complete or cancelled for those shown in green. To Do names are shown in red. Once ready to be mailed i will send a PM, if no response after 3 days i will move down the list and the unanswered PMs will be in the next batch if they reply

UPDATE 26 MAY 2014

I removed the completed (and cancelled by user) names from the list and am only showing uncompleted requests ( up until 8 Feb). I am managing to get a lot of orders processed now so there is light at the end of the tunnel. I intend on completing the requests shown below later this week. If your request was submitted earlier than 30 Dec 2013 and i missed you let me know and i will sort it for you.

Interested if I can install in an A1000 and get 8MB RAM.

Not sure what this sentence means: "This board should work with the A1000 and A2000, CDTV (without the autoconfig ram)"

Do you mean we only get IDE out of it if we want to put it into A1000 ?

Thanks B!!

The auto config ram will not work on the CDTV. It will need the special code to prevent the autoconfig and allow the user to add fastmem themselves. (ignore unintended reference to the a1000 and a2000.

For more info on what revisions of boards require what special needs visit...

Great.. Then all I would need is your A1000 adapter that pushes the board away from the Floppy carrier and then all is good right?

Hi,

cool board!

Have some questions:

-is it possible to boot from the IDE?

-what transfer speed do you get with it?

-do you need to extract signals from the expansion connector?

Thanks in advance for feedback.

Hi,

Yes it autoboots, mem is autoconfig in the A500 i'll have to dig out sysinfo, speed would be same as the IDE68k board by itself, 2 signals from expansion port, i'll post a picture in a few

(easy soldering)

Here's a pic of required signals (2 of them) needed to pick up from board... Only 2 wires need to be soldered to the board. On this board i had to use desoldering braid to remove the solder from the holes, insert the header, solder it and attach it so the fastmem board. easy peasy :)

Yup, That should work :)
