OK, the OTHER BAY (in u.s., so it's the .com) has something that just popped up called:
Commodore Amiga Development System
(Wow, I didn't think that would paste so large (OK, it didn't show that large) and in BOLD. :-) )

Anyway, not from an auction perspective, but just from an Amiga history perspective, it looks interesting....

I am not overly sure thats Amiga, or commodore.....

all i can see is a pawprint, and a tape roll.... I have seen this on other electrical equipment, infact a small Telnet box I have here has a similar paper roll glyph on the board.

other than some stuck on paper saying "commodore amiga devlopment system", I dont see anything there to justify that kinda price tag.

still interesting.... I would like to see whats on those ROMS, and if it fires up to a screen.

It´s an amiga clone prototype by Silent Paws.

They were a peripheral accesories manufacturer, only producced product to my knowledge was the PAWS1200 "laptop" case.

This could be a PAWS4000 prototype or another unknown project from that company. I´m not sure that they dealt exclusively in Amiga hardware, but it´s likely that it´s some clone of sorts.

If I had the funds I´d buy it and send it to an Amiga hacker like Keith or Anthony in NZ... Ah, one is allowed to dream...

It looks from the A500 time:) I would not bother, but if you are a serious electronic hacker it might prove usefull.. (think about what to do with it?)

Still after all the years browsing the internet about Amiga, I never saw this piece, or a look a like.

So I agree with Zetro, I think it is a Draco development system, I could source it much less, (production unit not development system) So probably a clone project still thinking it could sell unther the amiga name..

Did MacroSystem of Draco fame and Silen Paws of portable Amiga1200 have anything to do with eachother?

I thought MacroSystem were german, and Silent Paws were American? (EDIT: On Amiga hardware.com it says that MacroSystem had "dual" citizenship, both German and American)

Wouldn´t it be strange for MacroSystem to have the Silent Paws logo on their product?

From the amiga history page on portable amigas

The PAWS (Portable Amiga Workstation) from US-based Silent Paws was an hardware upgrade to the existing A1200 system. The kit rehoused the Amiga motherboard and keyboard inside a portable case and used the LCD display via some tweaking of the VGAOnly monitor driver settings. An interesting effort to utilise existing PC technology and avoid licencing difficulties. The A4000 version turned the machine into a luggable unit.
And then there is this page on the PAWS1200 Amiga1200 laptop.

And here, on one of the pictures you can clearly make out the logo
paws1200_6.jpg

And, from the Amiga history page on the Draco you can see the MacroSystems logo:

And in this image from the ad, you can clearly see the Silent Paws logo:

In case you can´t see it (no hotlinking), then it´s the third picture in the ad.

I really laughed when I saw the wc paper-roll over the PAWS logo...
What they were thinking? LOL (j/k)

I don't think it has anything to do with Macrosystem. Paws is a better candidate for this case. Although its' outline looks similar both to the Silent Paws logo, and the Mitchy footprint inside tha A1000.. The paw seems to be printed only on the "mainboard", whereas the paper roll appears on nearly every other pcb there. Looks like something inspired from the A1000 and the pic from the top shows a floppy mechanism at the bottom right corner. The keyboard connector is a phone jack just like the A1000. Oh well, hope it ends in an Amigan's hands so we can learn more about this beast. Wish i had the dough :)

It appears to be a "sibbling"... :D

This has started to give me the chills! :D It looks like part of the Lorraine family!!! Just follow all the links in this page http://www.classiccmp.org/pipermail/cctalk/2008-June/259611.html and you'll see the resemblance!
My guess is that it was part of a mid-way between Amiga-and-CBM-era machine. So Paws and Macrosystem is out of the question for me!

@salaxi54

Having looked at your pictures, and the pics of the Dale Luck Lorraine, I think thats what we might be looking at here.

Notice that Mitchies paw print in the A1000 case is VERY similar to the PAWS logo, only with mitchie there are two claws on the two middle "toes", while there isn't on the PAWS logo as I can make out.

Also, it seems to me that the Silent Paws logo toes "spread out", while the Mitchie paw the toes turn inwards towards the middle.

I think this is something from the Commodore era.

I'm not longer sure that it's Silent Paws clone.
