Amiga External Floppy controller
Im selling a few external gotek/floppy controllers.
This is an adapter that not only can use original Amiga floppy drives, but also PC floppy drives and even the Gotek drive as an external floppy drive! Its the adapter with all the features.
This bad boy is equipped with jumpers to select PC or Amiga floppy drive, jumpers to select between DF1:, DF2: and DF3: and even a jumper block for drive select. You can use a Gotek drive flashed with FlashFloppy or other Amiga compatible firmwares, and select it as an Amiga drive. This will even boot the Amiga from early startup on Kickstart 2.0 and up.
The Gotek drive itself is not included, and you have to supply your own floppy cable. Fortunately, you can use a standard floppy flat cable from a old PC. (IDC Cable) The size of this thing makes it easy to insert and unplug whenever you want, just make sure the Amiga is powered down while doing so.
It turns out that the DB-23 connector that plugs into the Amiga has gone out of production several years ago. There are still a few connectors available, but at a price that is not realistic and it smells like speculation. After experimenting a bit, I found that using a regular DB-25 connector work just as good. These are still in production, and to my surprise they work great. Better than great. All I had to do is to snip off the extra pins with a sidecutter.
A few Real DB-23 connectors available if you prefer. Add $6 to get real DB-23 connector!
Fully assembled price is
USD 30,- includes shipping Worldwide surface untracked
Build yourself KIT price is
USD 20,- includes shipping Worldwide surface untracked
Paypal payment only.
Ships from Sweden this month. After that it ships from Norway.
