so to complicate matters I want to install linux on a spare partition of my miggy ;)

Does anyone have, or know where to download Linux M68k.

I have tried all the links here http://www.linux-m68k.org/ftp.html and they are dead :(

Re: Amiga Linux

I just had a look and the first link to the FTP site

ftp.uni-erlangen.de, maintained by Roman Hodek

Seems to be Ok.
It is something I will be doing myself in the near future but not just yet.
Let us know how you get on, with pics please. :D

Re: Amiga Linux

Just remember the Linu* don't open any X-windows on the Amiga!

Reason: lack of "juice" from the AGA chipset. :(

How big would an ISO image of that disk be? I ask because it seems that Amiga Linux distros are hard to find compared to other system builds, so I would love to host an ISO of all the different Amiga distros released on CA.

/....Kin's eyes change to Dollar Signs & tongue flops from gob....

Heck, a few folk want a a burn of this then! 8)

The CD is named "Debian 3.0 r2 m6" & weighs in @ 645Mb, only Zipping down to 575Mb! :|

Uploading this will be heavy for me, but I am not adverse to a spot of Burning & Packing if you would all like a CD. Just a few Beer tokens for the Media & Shipping would be ok, so PM me your Deets!

Anyone with any other ideas, please speak up! :D

Cheers Y'awll,

@Kinnie

My dear friend, If you have yet to put The drive in the post for me, chucking a copy in the package would be most greatfully appreciated. :)

There is of course no rush whatsoever

Best Wishes

TC

OK. If you let me know what the postage will be, could you send me a copy? I can then 7z an ISO of the disk, which should make it smaller and upload it to the Classicamiga download section so it's there if anyone ever needs to download a copy.

I tried doing a search around the net to see if there were any copies of the ISO for download, but it seems to be very hard to find. The official Debian site does have a section in its ftp for the m64k distros of Debian, but it only seems to contain the installation files for you to manually take the source of Debian and build your own distro. Something I don't have the time or patience to try and do at the moment.

Re: Amiga Linux

@ Kin

any chance of some screen shots of the os installed?
also how well does it cope with the various configurations by that I mean does it detect the various cards you might have installed in your machine ?
