Is there a hole under it when you remove the top part of the case? I forget since it's been so long since I pulled a 1200 appart, but I have removed these with tiny flat head screwdrivers before prising it gently off bit by bit. Might want to add some heat to help it along though.

Yep, definitely use a hair dryer or a heat gun at a low setting. Get it thoroughly warmed up ("hot", but so you can still touch it) and it will come off very easily. Retrobright doesn't really attack the emblems but I feel it's still better for a good, even result.

When I was retrobrighting one of my 500+'s, the emblem had taken a hit and looks quite bad after the treatment. I have done a few others without problems so not sure exactly why it happened. These A500/A500+ emblems are different from the A1200 ones though.

Yeah, it does have a little hole to help push it out. I'm a bit worried about trying :/

If you try to poke it out cold, you'll dent it. But if you warm it up enough it will come out nicely. Just use very little force and incrementally add more heat. Done this many times without issues.
