No, that version of Kickstart rom is a 2 chip kickstart rom revision specifically for AGA Amigas.

You need the single chip rom 40.63 version. The single chip version works in the A500, A600 and A2000 (plus variants).

Hi -

Does anyone know if Amiga ROM 3.1 ver 40.68 will work with an A2000?

Cheers,
Karyn

It will work, but as already pointed out the physical version of this ROM is two chips (2 x 16 bit ROMs) so you'd either need a weird adapter (no-one probably ever bothered to make) or a 32-bit accelerator card with ROM sockets. Unless you somehow got hold of an unofficial EPROM-burnt single-chip 40.68 version.
Still, better use the suggested 40.63 version.

I got this off of Ebay - pictured is an older ROM and the new ROM - so this is a single 3.1 which if you zoom in is 40.68 on a single chip. So this still won't work then right?

And btw - yes, I ordered the 40.63 so the actual solution is on the way and I'll sell this (or perhaps just give away) to someone.

Cheers, and thanks for the help.

Did you actually try the chip? Maybe it's just a label misprint and it's the 40.63 after all.
