What better thing to finally connect your Commodore AMIGA to any monitor/TV with VGA input? Now with APOLLO series it is possible!

APOLLO series guarantees the VGA connection of your AMIGA to a monitor/TV with VGA input with the best video quality: video resolution capability up to 1920 x 1200!

Forget the poor performance of the GBS8200 converter (colors/missing pixels/low resolution..only up to 1360 x768!)
and other OSSC scandoubler

KEYS FUNCYION:

RESET
If a resolution that is too high and incompatible with your monitor/TV is chosen, simply press this key to auto-configure APOLLO on the first resolution supported by your monitor/TV

SCREEN RESOLUTION
With this button you can choose the video resolution you prefer..up to 1920x1200!

VIDEO FILTER
With this button you can choose the video filter that we have stored on APOLLO..choose what you prefer.

Edit:
Same questions and some others

50Hz?
Scanlines?
Possible to set up custom resolution?
What chip or technology is it based on?
Possible to have hdmi out?
  1. To be clear..obviously it is upscaled to get 60/75Hz which is today's standard
  2. Scanlines?No..there are many systems that can be connected downstream
  3. 800X600 up to 1920x1200
  4. HPC (high performance chipset)
  5. I received many requests to have the VGA connection as it is very widespread, from old monitors / TVs up to the most modern ones

Edit:
Hi @axel81 ,

What exactly are the preset filters on the Apollo X ?

Thanks :)
Hi there Watson
We often find ourselves in front of TVs/monitors which, despite having the color preset at 50%, have a different chromatic/luminous response.
So "preset" video filters are stored to give more or less hue/brightness/saturation/contrast to the image

In any case you ther isalso "normal" presert that is 50% for all components (saturation/contrast/ecc) and you can optimize locally on your TV/monitor

Can you provide some more details on the specs?

1. Can you set it to 640x480 for use on a CRT?
2. Does it support 50 Hz vertical refresh?
3. Does it do any deinterlacing / is there any lag?

Hey there,

quick question, since the vast majority of Amiga's are PAL 50hz, wouldn't it mean that by upscaling to 60 or 75hz this would introduce "shimmer" and "jitter" to scrolling that is usually smooth at 50hz?

Hi there
No..image is clear without any shimmer/flickering or something else.
Some pictures attached on the first post..as you can see form A600 and A500.

:) I think the issue only affects scrolling, not static images. The reason I ask is usually when a scandoubler outputs a different refresh rate to the input device then there are "missed frames" every few frames, which is only visible with smooth scrolling etc, but can be quite disconcerting.

I am far from an expert in the area, but it is something that comes up with scandoublers quite often. If you could link to a couple of videos showing smooth scrolling on a 50hz PAL Amiga going through the Apollo (preferably in 1080p and recorded in the native refresh rate that the Apollo is outputting at the time - either 60 or 75hz) it would be very helpful.

Ok I understand what you are referring to..now I don't remember if the GBS8200 has this problem..

But I had already seen APOLLO in function in the laboratory at 1080 connected both to the "UNITED" TV and then to a 32" "Sharp" but the motion picture (Lotus/Chuck Rock/Pinball Dreams/etc) was correct and no "missing frame" was visible

Hi,
Could you please post photos of the inside to see what is it made of ?
thx

No probs, can you please link to a couple of videos showing a 50hz PAL Amiga smooth scrolling?

Thanks.

I got an AOC 24E1Q that does native 15khz over vga - however there's a limited set of controls.

I'm wondering if this Apollo box (either type) allows for fine tuning picture width (4:3 and so on?)

Seems like theres ghosting on text (looking at the kickstart screen), how does workbench look?

Yes..for example it is available 1024x768 that is 4:3

Uploaded two videos
The two videos you have uploaded have NO SCROLLING in them at all. They do not show anything of use.

You need to upload videos showing a 50hz PAL Amiga SCROLLING - for instance, the first level of Shadow Of The Beast, or Banshee or Project X or anything that shows full screen smooth scrolling.

Hope this helps.
