Ok guys Fot the anstrad CPC 464 664 6128 external disc drive PROJECT
Want £60 ono + postage for this lot but please read below
THESE DRIVES ARE NOW WORKING !!!!!!
YOU WILL NEED TO DO SOME WORK IF YOU ALSO WANT 5 1/4 DRIVE SUPPORT
First picture I will try and get some more done tonight
OK now we have that out the way whats here
I have been working on getting these back to working order......
Both the drives are now powering up Green light shows on both and also the drive light is dim red when powered on.
The drives are now screwed back together (couple screws missing) but doesnt affect the workings.
The problem with drive 2 was there was no fuse in it. I have put in a 13amp fuse (this should be replaced with the correct one) .
The noise i heard was the driver powering down when switching off this is normal
Also included :
Note : drive 2 here is the one with a larger hole where the power lead goes in, to allow for another lead ( 5 1/4 drive)
Drive connection = the box that plugs into the Amstrad
there is a complete working 3rd drive (the 3" floppy mechanism) this has the power lead attached that i used for powering the 5 1/4 drive, it can be refitted into drive 2
CPM and CPM+ is also included on 2 x 3" disc and a tape
1 drive connection with cable and 2 x 3" connections and 2 x 5 1/4 connections
1 drive connection with no cable connected.
1 drive connection with cable and 1 x 3" connector, this also has a switch on for drive swapping and also a switch missing.
some spare cable with 3" and 5 1/4 connections.
A 5 1/4 " drive bare NO CASE (there is power for this from one of the 3" drives), very modest connection though, and the there is a cable attached to the motherboard although i cant remember what for.
5 spare 3" disc's Check whats on them before you delete, as i cant !!!
120 yes thats one hundred and twenty 5 1/4 floppies full of amstrad Apps and Games (comes with or without the case) your choice.
Just some : Bonzo Blitz, Procopy, Bonzo Super Meddler,Rodos Extra, Speedtrans, CPM plus Sorcery plus, Gauntlet + Deeper Dungeons + Gauntlet II, Moon Cresta, and more apps, and about 130 more games
There are some notes that i have, but beware there are not many
Please remember If you want a working 5 1/4" drive as well then there is some work to be done and 5 1/4 drive support is classed as "not working out the box"
I hope this goes to a real Amstrad User that can bring this all back to its glory as I once had it.
Please be aware of the postage costs as this lot weights in at 9KG (Unpacked)
As users that have bought from me before know i will adjust to the correct postage when it is all packed up and i have the address
I can do pictures if you are interested, but at the moment everything is boxed up
