Closed An IDE64 or similar device

I'm expecting delivery of a 128D and a C64c very soon and I would like to be able to ninja some games and demos to them from my PC.

I'm not very experienced with the latest, coolest things available for old Commodore systems, so I don't know what the best solution is.

I read good things about the IDE64 V4.1, but then there's the 1541 Ultimate and uIEC.

All I want is a nice, inexpensive, reliable way to transfer things to a C64 and/or a C128 and to be able to use either a CF card or SD card instead of 5.25" floppies. I don't have a disk drive for the C64 and will be relying on the C128's built-in 1571 for all storage until I find a solution.

I've had experience with just about every storage option for the C64/128 except for the IDE64 and Chameleon. If you want a good, low cost option then you simply cannot beat the uIEC/SD from Retro Innovations. It will run most software and you can copy D64 files that don't work with the uIEC from the uIEC onto real floppy disks.

They are not very expensive new and most people tend to keep them once they buy them.

For true 1541 emulation, the 1541U or 1541U-II are the best options from my experience.

That's wonderful news! Please let me know if you need any help with it. It's easier to use the uIEC if you have a cartridge with a DOS Shell (Such as Action Replay or Final Cartridge III) or if you have JiffyDOS.
