Oh dear my wife is going to kill me :picard

On e-bay after a few bottles of san miguel I ended up buying this C64c for £xx.xx (Collection Only)

Went to collect today and again it was in a sorry state but booted to the Basic Screen.

Really wanted the machine for the keyboard and 8580 SID which have already been swiped for my ultimate bread bin project so what I might do next weekend is re-spray the case and swap the keyboard to a black C64 one.

I know there is no SID but it can be kept as a back up if my other C64c fails

Going to test my painting skills on this machine before starting my breadbin hopefully in time for Wolverhampton

Images so far but not much to report - Only collected today!

I will Millius

Got any tips :help:

Guess it is Primer,Main Coat and Lacquer in that order ?

Thats all you need to painting, however have a look at plasticote, that gives a smooth powdercoat like finish and doesnt need any real prep (apart from washing it)

Die for the win! Die it in black and throw a brown-near-black keyboard in it.

Hi Guys

An Update on the Re-spray

Finally plucked up the courage to take an aerosol can to the C64c I bought on E Bay a couple of weeks ago and Sprayed it Metallic Blue today.

Images show the case after a deep clean in persil and Glo - White.
Then when I had applied the White Primer.
And then the Main Coat half way through application.

I have then attached a couple of images since it has been put back together with a C64 Breadbin Keyboard

Made some mistakes on the way - The coat was not as even as I would of liked and I had a colour run in the bottom left hand corner but for a first attempt I had some fun and made the C64c look alot better than what it was.

Also off topic I was going to use the keyboard from the C64c in my project breadbin but found the keyboard connector cable is not long enough :picard

Is this true in all C64c Keyboards ??

If so then I guess the only way to get the C64c Keyboard to be on the C64 is to replace the keys one at a time.

Thats not an issue as it needs to be retro brighted

Thanks for looking :D

i havent found that the cable for the keyboard to be too short for the breadbin, that is a bit strange.

I thought it was a bit strange but it was definitely too short buy a couple of inches, keyboard connector is in a different place compared to the c64c
