Hi,
did anybody tried to "convert" QS II Turbo, or QS II plus to 2-button joystick? If someone knows how, I would be very gratefull to share his knowledge with me. I tried to play Flashback on my Amiga 1200 with "normal" joystick, but i cannot jump over "the big hole" at the end of the game. I tried solutions from net (combination of buttons and directions to make big jump), but that was very frustrating :) I have 7 QS II Turbo joysticks, and i would risk one to modify it to play Flashback normally (i have changed cables in few of them, so i have 2 free wires).
Thanks in advance

If (big IF) supported by the game, the 2nd fire button should be using pin 9, as the single fire buttons use pin 6, if I am not mistaken.
I have never done this myself, so please have someone else confirm this approach before proceeding with the modification.

Thanks a lot. Yes, i have already seen this posts with pin 9, but i don't know how to connect it to pin 9. I have also read that it needs, on some Joysticks, a 1000 Ohm resistor??? That's way i wanted to see if someone has already did it! :)
Thanks again
I know that Flashback supports 2 button joystick, it is in options to choose (1 or 2)

I have never updated this post, but 2nd button really works on pin 9!!!! If someone wants to convert QS or Competition pro, just connect one fire button to pin 9 on db9 connector!
Thanks

If I remember correctly the 3 button mega drive controller would work if it does maybe get a broken mega controller and solder the quick shot buttons to the mega drive and use it to remap

You could also look at a cd32 controller circuit and use that as a guide

Hi, thanks for this post, but i wanted joystick with 2 button, not a gamepad. Don't know why, i'm one of the greatest player when i have joystick in hands, but i suck more than anybody with gamepad :) I was maybe too old when gamepads came to me :)
Yes, i tried convert MD gamepad to commodore, and i did it, it work, but as i said, joystick is my primary "weapon" :)

I never had a qs2 but I guess it has 2 buttons acting the same.
Maybe I have not completely understand but why don't you just separate them and connect one to the switch that activates the "up" position of the stick?
Hi,
Yes, originally QS2 has 2 buttons that acts the same, but if You have cable with 9 wires, You can add one of those 2 button to pin 9, and You'll have 2-button Joystick! Some games like Flashback (my intention was this game - big jump :) ) can be used with 2-button joystick for extra controls :)

I thought flashback couldn't be used with 2 buttons joysticks, that's why you were searching for a solution.
I was a bit confused because pin 9 is the simple solution.

Yes, i found out that it is very simple solution, but i was not sure, that's way I asked here :)

I’m talking about still using the quick shot but soldering buttons to the joypad circuit and use it as an interface

Anyone else tried to modify other joysticks with 2 buttons successfully?
TIA
You can do that with every joystick that fits for commodore or amiga, just need cable with 9 wires. They are very cheap on ali....
