I know a few people have mentioned Amigaspirit. But who is this?

Nothing in the website.

That's bad business practice. In Norway all online shops are encouraged (not required) to list their business address and their VAT registration number. This way consumers who would like to can look up their entry in the public business registry.

Best reading of that site is that it's an Amiga enthusiast who wants to run a hobbyist shop and don't want any focus on his or hers person. I'll refrain naming any worst case scenario because it probably isn't, but lack of transparency puts any shopper in a disadvantage in case of a dispute.

This shop uses PayPal for payments, but I don't know if PayPal has as good buyer protection that it had when it started out.

i know who it is,sorry but what do you mean there isnt anything there?(nothing in the website)

Most Amiga shops or even hobbyists would have some sort of contact details or where they are based. This site is very anonymous and therefore makes you wonder if it’s legit.

Someone over on Amiga.org mentioned this company? As they wanted a A1200 mainboard repairing. When you look at the link, it doesn’t really make you want trust it. If it is legit, then why the anonymity of it?

no idea,i could ask him?,his name is derek fellowes

@roy_bates Just to be clear. Not trying to have a go at the guy. For feedback, the site needs to be more clear that it is a legit thing. 👍🏻 As demonstrated, I have had a look at this site (plus from others opinion) and from word of mouth. But to me I wouldn’t purchase. 😉 Site needs to be more transparent.

Cheers 🍻

he says its to cut down on spam, and unwanted messages

to be honest i dont give out my address to people who dont want work doing

I also know of Derek. I bought a Gotek from him on one of the Facebook groups. (y)

AFAIK, an Impressum is a must for legality.
from what I can find online it's a requirement for .de websites and german facebook pages. But as far as I can find it's a German reqirement, not EU.

Derek is a decent and upstanding guy, and he knows his stuff about Amigas.
Glad to hear that.

If I were him I'd link to my profiles on Amiga forums. It's like OnlyFans models on Reddit, you only reply to those who are punters.
