4) clean and tin the mach chip pads and the mach chip
5) position the mach chip back on the pads and reheat with heat gun or soldering iron
6) remove foil / protection. & inspect solder
7) clean and test
8 )fit 64mb mod socket (pins towards ram socket)
9) solder wire from under Apollo ram socket to mod PCB. (A4 pad)
10) clean & inspect
11 ) fit ram and test.

I don't have a 64mb ximm sadly but I've ordered one to test it...and a good clean to get the flux off it.

Do you still have your A4000? And an A3640? Might have a job for you... If you want to take it on...

my 64 mb simm has finally arrived and I've finished soldering the card wires up and a bit of tidying - so its ready for the customer.

I've added a diagram too if anyone needs it. i routed my wires slightly differently but essentially the same.

Nice job buddy. I have one to do myself in the near future, this'll be a handy reference.
BTW, where did you get your RAM from? I've had a look and found some likely compatible units, but it'd be nice to be sure which one's to get.

i spent ages trying to find one but its a 64mb EDO single sided simm - its big! i had to remove the socket and solder the ROM flat to the board.

I'm sure there are small 64mb simms but i couldn't find one. i had to order one from the states.
