Hi, selling my 'spare' Se/30.

OS 7.5.3, 8mb ram I think, and a hard drive, 1.4mb floppy, adb lead, keyboard, apple mouse. I've never had a network card so the slot is free.

Works great, but today i became aware that I'm not sure the sound does... control panel doesn't alter the volume which seems weird, but then I'm still not totally up on Macs.

Pics attached (moire is the camera not the mac :) )

very clean, but one small mark top right, hopefully will come off.

UK preferred please, signed for delivery. £65+ postage or cool to pick up from Herts or Bucks.

Edit- offers considered as may need caps.

Also - a brand new macally keyboard and adb lead, £8 extra.

PS I've found it very easy to get stuff from internet onto it, download onto pc, to floppy, and onto mac. (Prince of Persia, macpaint, macwrite pics here just for illustration, for rules not included). I understand that as well as a floppy, a SCSI CDRom is a good thing if you want to mass transfer stuff.

If the sound doesn't work, it's likely that one or more capacitors have leaked on the motherboard; it's a quite common symptom on these machines. If it has not been done, a full replacement of all capacitors will likely be needed. Good luck with the sale!

Shame about the caps issue, otherwise I'd love to have one of these again.
Definitely caps issue though, had a Classic II before, had same symptoms before dying. Try the headphone output, it might still work.

The problem with leaking caps, is that the fluid might have damaged the motherboard. I restored one to full working order an year ago, and the leakage from a capacitor had even damaged one of the tracks. It cost me quite a bit to replace all the caps and have the track repaired by an expert technician. Pity really.

Aw unlucky as i bought a Macintosh Classic II last month-ish otherwise id jump on this. On my Mac i changed all the caps to tantalum caps, they are a little bit more costly but worth it as you never have a problem with leakage.

Good luck with the sale!
