Basically a Full hardware Amiga 500 Compatible machine with Floppy and ADF support SD,USB, Ethernet support + HDMI output, all in one small compact unit

If they reach there funding goal, they are asking for £85 per unit.

From what I've read it's using a raspberry pi for the emulation, so I'm curious about the performance as I was never able to get a fullspeed emulation with it ... and seems like the application is making a dump of the disk then launch the emulator.

It's a nice idea but in it's state, I personnally don't see the benefits.

(correct me if I'm wrong on the features ^^)

I really like the casing, but I'd prefer a non-emulation-based device, if I were to purchase such a thing, personally.

Emu

Emu

The emulation puts me off. I always prefer stuff running on real hardware. Saying that though lothareks mist looks interesting. Amiga, st and a8 in one box.

It's great that it is more Amiga activity - even if it is just a re-hashed classic in some kind of roundabout way. And who knows what it may lead to. So, I can appreciate it for what it is.

But, ultimately, anything more than a passing interest will probably only be gained by me when a PROPER next generation Amiga is released :D ie. Natami style. One that is built in the way the Amiga was all those years ago, only greatly more powerful :)

Can't see it getting to the goal amount of funding but good luck to them. Also, whilst I'm sure the stretch goals are based on what's doable for certain amounts of money, the AGA support ought to have been further up the list.

You could build a pretty decent winUAE machine for as little effort so it seems more about the pretty case and custom controller.

I was unaware that a Raspberry Pi could emulate an Amiga well, is that really the case?

Also, how is this better than a MiniMig?

Personnally I was unable to get UAE4ALL running full speed even with overlocking the PI ...

I'm really curious about their performance (and if they add Aga...) But maybe I'm wrong and they are using a special build of UAE (that would be great to know)

Isnt there an uae4all2 for PI? its been ported to alot of stuff already and features 020, AGA and HDD.

oh, looks like I missed it :-/ ... I would have give it a try but now too late since I sold my PI :/ if anyone have tried and can give some hints about the performance ?

I don't get it personally, they are going to loads of effort and expense for the one part of the Amiga experience most of us don't miss - floppies! I love using an Amiga but I couldn't bare to use floppies again. The drive is a waste of space and money IMO.
