BFG9060 Bootloop

I have a BFG9060 that is stuck in a boot loop.

Rainbow colors and then it reboots.

I've probably re-seated the card 10 times.

I've triple checked all jumpers.

I've cleaned the KEL contacts with IPA.

Any other advice?

I noticed you’re running this on a A3000. The earlier BFG cards don’t play nice with SCSI. It’s a known issue.

Worth a watch to see if this helps.

That SCSI thing is a different issue. This machine does not even boot to a kickstart screen, just boot loops with the rainbow colors.

Did the BFG ever work in this A3k? Or is this a new purchase?

Can you test the BFG in another machine to rule it out as being the issue?

Do you have a custom kickstart?
Do you have the Bootrom loaded in the flashrom ?

New purchase. BFG was thoroughly tested by the seller.

Does the 68060 works at all with KS2.04? I don't think so. You should try 3.1.

I like old KS 2.04 but i keep it only for my OS2.1 setup in my good old A500Plus i used back in 1991.

BFG9060 is supposed to work with KS 2.0. But I have ordered 3.2.2 to try that

Worth a read up as you will need to install and setup THORs MMULIBs as the BFG has no Autosensing for RAM.

A pitfall I had when I once owned one..

Did you set the BFG to 100 MHz? Try 50.
Check your ROM timing jumpers - try it with setting it to slower timings.
