The "fastest ever" broadband speeds have been achieved in a test in London, raising hopes of more efficient data transfer via existing infrastructure.

Alcatel-Lucent and BT said speeds of 1.4 terabits per second were achieved during their joint test - enough to send 44 uncompressed HD films a second. :o

However, it may be many years before consumers notice any effect. And heres me with 1.8 mb :p

wow, I would have expected something like this to be achieved in South Korea where I associate them with uber-mega speeds.

Yup like me DonAmiga sounds like you are part of the rural club. If it rains or blows wind too much then lots of disconnects otherwise 1mb

Long way to go :)

its great having faster speed broadband but we need bigger and faster storage capabilities too

i have 120 down and 10 up but my drives fill up too quick and need too delete most stuff all the time

I wish I had that problem, I only got rid of dial up a few years ago when Three invested in rural Ireland... Now I get to enjoy 2 meg download at some times of the day

@ DonAmiga

I expected the punchline from that teaser heading to read ".....In 1995".

I AM DISAPPOINT.
