Hello,

Does anyone have an RGBI to RCA video cable that would enable 80 column display on a C128D?

Thanks,
rhodrunner

Thanks for the reply. My soldering skills aren't great, so I'm hoping I can find one already made, or find someone who would be willing to make one for me. Either RCA or S-Video so I can use my existing video switches.

Nice retro console collection, BTW.

thanks, i could manage to knock one up, except for the fact i don't have any d-subs that aren't already functional (regular) RGB cables. (or 9-pin Serial cables for that matter)

S-video is luma/ground chroma/ground which is compatible with the regular 8pin DIN (40col) connection (which has luma/chroma), but not the RGBi, you'd have to buy a converter...i was able to knock together a commodore 40col -> SVideo adapter just with dollar-store SVideo+RCA extension cables. (though i didn't notice any real improvement in quality)

Would you be willing to make an RGBI -> RCA cable if I sent you a 23-pin -> 9-pin video cable and an RCA cable?

i could, just bear in mind that it'll just be monochrome (not that there's a lot of C128 80-col stuff in any case)

Thanks, I appreciate that. I have a couple leads on getting a color cable built, so I'll hold off on your offer if you don't mind. I'll let you know if it pans out. If it turns out well, maybe the builder would be willing to make more cables for other people who are interested.
