I've programmed in various forms of Basic and 6502 MC.

But my recent venture into C has been a bit of a steap learning curve.

Still got a long way to go to be good but I'm getting there.

Have a lookie here at my first full program in C for the Amiga. All I need to do (when I get a chance) is knuckle down and finish it

Thankyou I will try tomorrow

Nice work

That's pretty impressive, particularly since you're relatively new to C :)

Never ever attempted machine code, but now I have the setup I do, for some reason it's given me the impetus to try and learn for the 64. Just get my confidence up with BASIC first. Perhaps play around with some dedicated game-creation stuff :)

Patience and planning are the keys.

I slipped up big time with the program for the Amiga. I didn't allow for double-buffering the display.

It's been changed a great deal since that thread was created and in fact the main core has been totally rewritten to allow for double-buffering all because I didn't plan properly in the first place :double

But it's a lesson I've learned and won't make the same mistake again.

Well, i've plenty of books covering c64 machine code sitting on my tablet, waiting for a quiet moment at work.

Atm, i'm rewriting my menu system to incorporate Navi96 and perhaps one or two other features.

You can't beat a bit of light reading :D

Good luck and keep up the programming.

Lol, well, getting into fiddling about with the menu has taken me into the area of poking/manipulating colour on-screen and even basic compiling.

The basic version is up. Gimme a week I MAY have a flashy funky newer version

Spent a couple of hours tarting this thing up.

Still does exactly the same things, but it looks nicer, is a bit more colourful and has been compiled in Blitz Basic.

I haven't had the chance to test this on my real 64 yet btw...

Same as before, unzip contents to SD2IEC root, then LOAD"MENU",8 and RUN

Si

Edit: I don't the 'menu' program in here is the compiled one, just the basic one. Does the same thing, just a little slower. I'll upload later today. It's late, i'm knacked :p

Very nice work!

Have you or anyone else tried this with uIEC? Does this program assign the id permanently?

Yep i've tested it with my SD2IEC device, and it works fine...
Oh, yeah it writes the device number to Eeprom, so it's permanent.

EXCEPT... i've got to upload it again - the last one has a file not found error, so i've just fixed it...

Anyway... here it is, and thanks :D

Nice, i'd like to change the id to 10 is that possible?
