We used to have "Latest sales threads" in the main menu in the old site, but now there is only one option "New posts". I know there are additional filters that can be set to the right, but I suspect not many members know or bother to use that.

This means that non-sales (and also "Sold") threads always get mixed in, so if there is lot of generic discussions going on, "For sale" threads quickly get pushed down the page. This is especially bad for non-Amiga stuff as people hardly click through all the individual categories so those threads will get minimum eyes once off the first page and then wait 2 weeks for a bump. I've been monitoring the views and this is certainly be true, once a thread on the second or third page of the "latest", views drop a lot, until there is a bump and surge in views again.

Would be nice if the old feature would come back, I for one certainly almost exclusively used it because it keeps the focus on buying/selling, which is the site's main purpose.

Please post if you think this was a good feature.

@comraider is this something we can do?

We do have the latest threads side bar in the main forum page, but if you click on the "Latest Threads" title bar it just take you to "New Posts" and not to the latest started threads.

The following features have now been added:
  • "Latest sales threads" link in the top navigation banner (or in the side navigation menu on mobile)
  • "Sales threads" tab in member profile pages, allowing you to quickly see all the sales threads currently active for a member.

@comraider, see with the "Latest sale threads" it still seems to be putting the one that's been updated with a new post to the top of the list see attached picture, shouldn't these remain in the order they were originally posted and not jump to the top when updated for what ever reason.

you can see in the attached pic, the PMC PPC carriers are above the one which was only posted 23 minutes ago and so on

Just like the thread list in the forums, replies in threads will bump them up to the top here. But I see your point--since the context here is "latest threads" we should probably sort it by thread creation date. I'll fix it up.

I'm sorry but that would defeat the whole purpose.

In the old site all the way to the first version, the whole point of the latest sales threads was to show latest threads with ACTIVITY. More like "Most recent sales threads"

That's the whole point of the bump system too, on the sub forums, the threads are odered by ACTIVITY not by creation date. I of course have a self interest as I have many old threads selling multiples of the same thing. And in this case they would NEVER been shown on latest sales threads, just under "New posts" where they have to compete for visibility with all the "noise" - Sold threads, blog posts, general discussions and such.

Else I'll be forced to create a new thread for every single thing I sell to get visibility (instead of only once every 2 weeks)

@tbtorro Are you happy with how it works currently?

Yes of course, this is exactly how it always worked on the old forum. That is "Latest sales threads" shows all the "For sale" threads only, and ordered by the most recent activity.

@comraider Can we leave it as it is for now please?
