Hi all,

anyone have any idea why my CD32 is just showing a black screen (black as in it is trying to display something) the power (green) led lights up, but that's all that happens, any thoughts?

cheers, JuvUK

Do you have other extra hardware installed? Like a FMV for example?

It's time for opening methinks. Try to unplug and plug again the Kickstart module for example.

Check the 2 largest caps on the motherboard for any bulging/leaking. These were soldered the wrong way round on quite a few CD32 consoles

cool, i will have a look tonight(y)

i did open it up, the only thing you can re-seat is the rom chip.

there is a copper clip hanging from the power switch circuit board (but that wouldn't stop it booting, i just wondered where it is supposed to go

When it was the last time you turned it on m8?

If it's a long time, then leave it turned on for some minutes.

I have a unit with this exact symptom :(
Tried switching psu, cdrom drive & ROM chip with another unit, didnt help.
Checked all caps, measured voltages, all seems fine.

Gave up on mine, I really hope yours will fare better!
