How well does the different CD32-emulators/wrappers work on the 1200? I'm pretty uneducated regarding this, what is required for best result? I want a seamless experience - that is, I pop in the game and it loads. I'm willing to stretch to a boot disk, but I don't feel like fiddling with settings everytime I want to run a game.
Anyone with experience with this?

The best one I found was the emulator included with Squirrel SCSI. If it detects a CD32 game in the drive on boot then it boots into that game (well at least its supposed to) I had to create a boot disk with my CD0 file becuase I was using another SCSI device and Classic Workbench. I think you'd be fine with a standard Workbench install for auto booting.

I tried a number of games and they all booted fine, but I couldn't really play them properly as I didn't have a CD32 pad at the time.

I've tried the emulator with IDEFix97, tried a few games they either didn't work at all or crashed on loading/menu, gave up with that pretty quickly

Steve.

If not, it will continue to load os3.9.

It very much seemless, I enabeled fastram for Microcosm and its the smoothest I have ever seen it run.

i use the software that comes with the IDE-FIX software, i think you have to press F10 to boot directly from CD, success rate is fairly high but not perfect, if you need it to be perfect, buy a CD32

Is Squirrel SCSI hardware or software? If it is software, is it IDE-compatible?

For me, the CD32 emulation included with IDE fix has been ace! saying that though, the last time I used it I had my old Mtec 1230-28 RTC in the 1200, not sure how it runs with BPPC

Could it make a difference between registered and non-registered IDE fix? I have the registered ver.

Nagh, sounds like I've been doing it wrong, this was with my Blizzard 1230 but I was running from Workbench, I didn't know about the below, mostly becuase I think reading manuals is for wimps... :ninja:

Still, will I need SCSI or will IDE do for the emulation?

The CD32 emulator with IDEFix will work with IDE. (Not sure ablout SCSI?)

The Squirrel SCSI CD32 emulator (I imagine) would use only SCSI, I used it with SCSI :)

Hello All,

Seeking some help to get CD32 games to run on Amiga 1200 please, hopingthis thread still gets some love :) I have a pcmciacd.device to run my Sony Vaio PCMCIA cd rom drive. Do I just run the install for IDFEFix97 or Squirrel SCSI and then modify the device it uses somewhere, or just amend my SS to run the CD32 program if a CD is in the drive?

Thanks!
