I've recently acquired a Commodore 286-16 PC without a keyboard but it works with my old AT keyboard just fine. Its a nice machine for the time, VGA and IDE and a very small footprint - everything is miniature on the machine.

The battery was dead when i got it , it was a Dallas solid state battery which forgot all the settings on a reboot and failed to boot the hard drive even though it was allocated as a type 17 but a new battery has sorted this and now it boots just fine in to MS-DOS 6.22

This is the first PC that I've ever seen with built in Diagnostics / setup and boot options in the bios.

Im not sure if this is the Commodore machine that had C64 or Amiga compatible mouse ports but i'll check that another day.

its a nice machine and the former user had it set up to connect to the LAN on boot up and load the Arachne web browser.

specs here :

Commodore SL286-16
287 fpu
OAK ~Vga
4mb 32 pin simms
41mb ide seagate hdd (now 400mb)
mini power supply
slimline 3.5 1.44mb floppy drive
Yamaha isa sound card
isa LAN card

Some of the pics have a yellow tint to them but this has now gone and the VGA colours are correct.

TO DO:

Keyboard to find
mouse
and a dose of redrobright and thats about it.

mike.

Nice one, Mike! Is that the smaller pizza box case?
