Hi guys does anyone have any of this memory I could nab for cheap? My comp could do with an upgrade and I cant afford to do a completely new build. My student loan already has a dent in it and the course hasnt started yet  Want to be able to run multiple virtual machines at decent spec. Have 4Gb atm but using Vista 64bit. Would rather have Win7 64 but I'm not shelling out for a new OS!
Sucks I cant use DDR3 either, its so much cheaper!

Looking for 2gb sticks one or 2 will do but must be the stuff in the pic...

Also wouldnt mind a Quad core 775 chip (better than an E6550) or a good 775 cooler.

Open to offers here but cant stretch my budget too far, the RAM is more important ATM unles someone can offer a quad at a comparible price.

Thanks guys!

Hi

I have a few DDR2 memory sticks which could be of interest to you.

2x 1Gb Corsair Dominator CM2X1024-8500C5D

2x 1Gb OCZ 2N 1066SR2GK

Both pairs are CL5 1066Mhz high quality memory sticks.
Asking £25 shipping included for each pair.

Interested?

cheers

Any idea what voltages the dominators are? if theyre 1.8 they may work with what I have, underclocked. The stuff I have ATM is 800MHz 4GB XMS2 as pictured but theyre only 1.8 volts.

Both OCZ and Dominator are 2.1v

What's your MB ?

Its an asus p5ne-sli, but my current memory is only 1.8v and was hoping to run them together. If i undervolt them theyre unlikely to perform.

Those high spec'ed RAMs are just the factory equivalent of an overclock.

They would run fine at 1.8 6400.

I dare say ANY DDR2 ram that can run at 6400 WILL run at 1.8. That's the standard spec and the SPD will be set at 1.8v for 6400.

hmm they do have huouge heatsinks on them

I will have to get back to you pending the CPU thread. If I find a quad my allowable redline funds will likely be exhausted

Please close this, I've spent far too much now  lol
