What is the easiest way to create a sysinfo diskette ?
On my PC , I’ve downloaded sysinfo.lha , sysinfo.adf .
Would this work:
On the PC , format a: /f:720
Then copy the lha to the diskette ? Or copy the adf to the diskette ?
------------------------------------------------------------------
Or do I need to use something like WinUAE ?
(Eventually, I want to use WinUAE to prepare a CF Card hard drive)

Then copy the lha to the diskette

then extract it to a folder
on amiga
you need to boot in to wb first then exchange disks

then copy sysinfo to a wb disk or a backup removing any file not needed if no space

pcs cant read amiga disks

That would do if you want to transfer the files to a real Amiga using the pc0: dosdriver to read the disk in workbench. However pc disk drives cannot write Amiga disks without modification or extra hardware. You will have to explain what it is you are trying to do exactly for more detailed help.

I think he just wants to create an Amiga disk with sysinfo on.

You will need to double click on the PC0 icon (I think it's actually on the storage disk)

I would copy sysinfo.lha and the lha.run file to RAM disk and extract them there, then copy to a newly formatted amiga disk (if you have enough RAM).

Remember to issue this command in the CLI (aka Amiga DOS SHELL):

install DF0:

To make the floppy bootable, then extract Sysinfo to it and create a S:startup-sequence calling the sysinfo executable (with full path) and nothing more.

Sorry for the delay - I am on Pacific time.

Space is not a issue --- I will be running this on a amiga 1200 with a existing hard drive .

once i have the lha copied to the hard drive, I'll try to use pc0: dosdriver .
Thanks for your help,
Peter
