Don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but as we have a number of UK users, and this was one of my favorite Britcoms....

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4104054/combined

apparently 'post production' (presumably in the 'editing' stage)

and also appears to have Ian Lavender in it, who originally played Pvt Pike. (plus a few other relatively well-known actors, Bill Nighy, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Toby Jones)

Sad to say that my first and only thought is "Oh dear...".

The BBC really needs to stop coasting off of successes from generations ago, now.

ah well, everyone is doing it these days....people are running out of fresh ideas....

"Fame" and "Footloose" (for example) did NOT need remakes...

Totally agreed... :(

The problem in this case, as in other similar ones, is that it's also painful watching people who have become too old to competently act/present/etc. continuing to do so well past their prime. Though again, that seems to be everywhere at the moment, and is by no means a criticism of the BBC alone...
