Dimple in plastic case from overtightened/too long screw?

So, I have an Amiga keyboard where the previous user must have used a too long screw or overtightened it or something, and the screw caused the plastic on the top of the keyboard to bump out or dimple. You can not only see it but feel it. oh:

I'm thinking of using a hot air dryer to warm the area and try pushing the bump down and making it smooth. You will probably still see the blemish but it won't be raised. Does this sound like a reasonable way to go? Anyone done this before and have any tips?

I have flattened out a few dimples over the years by simply using the domed end of a screwdriver handle and pressing firmly against the dimple. Avoid pressing anywhere but on the dimple itself. Make sure the rear of the item is well supported as you will need a fair bit of force. I would advise against heating the item, unless it is a mild heat, like leaving the item in the sun for a while.

You will never get the item back to it's original appearance, but at least it will be flattened down somewhat.
