ZorRAM will work with a Buster 7, Buster 9 and Buster 11 in an A3000.

In the A4000, Buster 9 and associated Bridgette chip have bugs which cause problems when used together with the ZorRAM, so an upgrade to Buster 11 is necessary.

One major factor that inhibits the speed of ZorRAM is of course the Buster chip.

Also, users have reported that you can only use a limited amount of DKB3128s in one system, however we have filled an A4000 Zorro slots with ZorRAM and achieved 1GB of Fast memory- see here:

I'm using 3 DKB's in my A4kT, I need a small patch in startup to allocate the Ram and it works great, of course if I had a 4th I'd test it, but hey 512mb (including the CSPPC's 128mb Ram) is enough for me

Without the patch, it still works but I get a little yellow guru as workbench loads but it continues to load and works fine

Right folks! Don't forget this is someone's Wanted thread! The discussions about DKB3128s vs. ZorRAM are certainly fascinating stuff, but we should probably have that chat in the AmiOracle section. (In fact, I might move the posts into their own thread later)

So, over to Merlinkv. He's looking for a DKB3128, but might consider a ZorRAM, I'll let him clarify. If anyone has one to offer him, this is the place to do it.

:thanks:

Thanks a lot Andy

Well I'm looking first for one DKB-3128 fully populated, but I consider also offers for other solutions like the ZorRAM.

I will change the title now.

Thanks to all of yours guys, your help & commetns are very much appreciated.
