Do Mitsumi Key Cap -> Cherry Key converters exist in any capacity?

Now that there are newly produced Mitsumi hybrid key caps by A1200.net perhaps makes sense to try such an approach. Although I'm wondering if a converter adds too much height making the keyboard looking odd

Only one way to find out. :) I should probably add that the new Aeberbach low-profile Gateron switches would also be a welcome addition.

How much height does it add to the key?

Around 3-4mm so it might not looking nice depending on the PCB you use.

Is it easy to remove from the keycap if needed without breaking anything?

Depending on the print quality. I used 100% fill and PETG with 0.1mm resolution. No issues with inserting or removing.

Did you use regular old Commodore keycaps or new ones from A1200.net?
When working on various keyboards, i have noticed that the part which goes into the plug may be shorter on A1200.net keycaps, resulting for instance on an A4000 keyboard in a shorter course for pressing a key. So it might be possible to reduce a bit the adapter in height for those ones?

I used original Commodore Part. I measure no different on the important part of both keys so no advantages for the a1200net keys.

Crap, i have used the online simulator from sculpteo.com (only 3D printing online service i ever used) to see how much it would cost, byt they say object is too small (X+Y+Z must be more than 30 mm, here 21 mm).

It would cost about 80 EUR to make about 110 in recycled PTEG with 100% fill at Craftcloud3d.com.
Not very competitive versus for instance the keycaps set offered by Steeved from Signature Plastics.
Maybe best to have a 3D printer at home for this.

Yes, sadly it won't be cheap if you use those print services. Maybe it can be optimized a bit like 75-85% fill or other filaments.

This is a simple stacking adapter from original Mitsumi Keys to Cherry MX switches.

Pro: fits
Cons: height
Thank you for this. My x-axis belt just snapped this morning, but I suspect the replacement will arrive in a few days. I'll test as soon as humanly possible and report here asap.
