The usual capacity of these chips is either 256Kx4 (128K) or 1Mx4 (512K), so with 8 chips, you're probably looking at either 1MB or 4MB

D424402V-70 zip ram seems to be STATIC COLUMN and someone on AMIBAY is looking for these models!

@Kazuma

The TC514258AP are 256Kx4 bit - so with 8 of them its 1MB

The D424402V is a little troublesome but I havepinned them down to 1Mx4 thus with 8 of them you have 4MB - now there is a little more info for the the D424402V -

NEC JAPAN
D424402V-70
9130FU004

These particular chips are Static Column enabled - which means in a device that can utilize this feature - like an A3000 then it will improve memory efficenty (transfers / refresh) by about 10%

However if the A3000 is equipped with an 040 - I dont think you can take advantage of the SC enabled memory - but I am not 100% sure - Andy would be able to tell you more on that

[edit]
typo - these are 1Mx4 and not 4Mx1 that I typo'ed earlier

Thanks for all this info, I have no idea how to calculate this hehe

@Zetr0
My Nec chips has some different info stamped on them.

D424402V-70
9230F5002
Nec Japan

...on all eight of them.

This all come from an A3000 that was scrapped.

The only sticking point here is I don't think 4Mx1 works in an A3000, it has to be 1Mx4.

As for static column RAM, yes, there are advantages to using SC RAM with a 68030 with cache burst, but this doesn't apply to the 68040. I'm not fully aware of the technical details, but it's a fairly well-known fact that '040s don't talk to motherboard RAM as well as '030s do.

So then the dips add up to 1MB for all eight of them and the zips adds up to 4MB for all eight of them - right ?
