Hey guys, you got the Elder Scrolls Online beta invite yet?

Mine just arrived today after months of waiting, it appears they are planning a stress test during this weekend, so they sent out a batch of invites, check your emails!

Give me a few dozens of hours though, looks like I have to download 22GB's of crap...

the game is going to cost about £60 plus £9 per month to play......... how can these companies charge soooooooo much?:(

Well on one hand it's obvious. It's Bethesda. Just like Blizzard they have a humongous fanbase of people who would pay anything to play their game.
On the other hand, there are so freaking many MMO's out there that are free...

I'll see after the weekend if it's worth it ;)

damn, missed the signup... did it now but chances are slim lol

well i have enjoyed Skyrim and the addons but the whole lot only cost £25, i struggle to justify the £9 per month charge :(

Well do what I do - don't buy them!
There are so many fun games out there, you will never have the time to finish them in your lifetime, why bother with games that punish you by making you pay? ;)

I am a bit dissapointed by the game. I already played some beta events. Maybe i`ll play the trial month, but i dont wanna pay monthly for this.

I just can't begin to imagine what there is about the overall Elder Scrolls experience that would be the slightest bit improved by sharing it with random yahoos messaging each other in incomprehensible jargon over a public channel and probably killing me for yuks. That's nothing like what I play TES for at all.

I've got my invite, so thanks for reminding me that I need to update my game client. I was in the last one (but Sssshhhh, because the NDA even prevents you from telling people that - oops!).

My problem is that after playing WoW for about 5 or 6 years and now no longer doing so, I'm getting so much more done with Vectrex and Amiga and everything else that I simply can't begin to contemplate getting sucked in again. I'll play the beta's, have my fill and then forget about it i think.

I played the betas of NeverWinter and then for quite some time into the game but I have to admit, while it was a lot of fun at the state because everyone was new, I was bored by the time I reached the level cap. That was free and I only spent money in-game once, just to give it a try (and it was a waste of time!)

I played Skyrim until I could not get killed and I could zap dragons out of the sky (100% free destruction magic). The newer MMORPG version has absolutely nothing to interest to me TBH. As far as I can tell its been simplified compared to all previous versions. But having to effectively re buy the game every month is just a joke. I bet it turns out to be another grind like WOW and 99% of all monthly paid MMORPGs. There are loads of good free to play ones available. Rust (currently on early access on Steam http://store.steampowered.com/app/252490/) is a pay once game and is shaping up to be rather good. Plus its developed by the people behind "Garys Mod"

Rust is a DayZ clone that went it's own way, mixed with MineCraft over DayZ's hardcore realism style. It's hardly complete and the author himself, Garry Newman is surprised why people want such an unfinished product.

I don't think ether are finished yet TBH. Both have their merits and will sell (have sold) well. Graphics wise thou the DayZ VBS2 engine if far inferior. It certainly much greater stock objects and buildings. The character animation is very poor when interacting with scenery however. Just watch the characters hands on ladders etc.

Of course they're not, that's why they are available on Early Access ;)

Actually, i don't have time to play any MMO, but even as a huge fan of TES games, i'm not interested in this one.
I like to run by myself in the moonlight in the hood with my sword or travel through vast lands by feet, just like in Morrowind or Skyrim, and i don't want to be bothered by thousands of people who just will be willing to fight with big weapons or cheat all the way.

Hope to meet you guys in the game tomorrow, keropi's going to be there too.
