I have purchased a professionally made mold for an A3000T part, which appears to be identical to an A3000 desktop part. That is, the "blind" floppy drive cover. Today, i managed to make my first copy, and wanted to share the results. The first outcome is good, but not perfect for my likes.
But, luckily, i know what went wrong. It's actually the resin type (polyurethane). Next attempt will be liquid-glass resin.
This does not mean that the first result is not usable, but i tend to get a little picky on details sometimes.
But, i'd like to know if there would be generally interest on such small parts so i can move forward to new molds, as long as i already have the original parts in hand. What'd y'all say?
p.s. i have also visited a spectrometer shop, and requested the make of spray paint identical to this part. I pointed out that i wanted the measurement to be taken from the rear side of the cover, to avoid any percentage of yellowing on the front. We'll see how that comes out once i get it.
Oh, and this is not a sales thread eh? Just trying to see if there's a need widening the volume of copies and the variety of items.

First of all, i'd like to make a correction: The mold is the other way around! That is, i had it made for the desktop model, and thought it would fit the T model too.
But it appears they're different! That is, the A3000T floppy cover is wider. Any way, i've attached pictures so you can see that there's approx. 4mm extra length on the T model. I also painted the replica cover with the spray i ordered, and fitted it to the desktop case. I think it looks good so far. Nevertheless, i'll be trying the other type of resin soon.

It appears that there's no interest in parts like this, so i'll just make some for myself. Nevertheless, here's an update, with another part i managed to replicate.
Fresh out of the mold before sanding and cleaning. The A3000 power button:

Hello
Cool project :)

I would like to see A1000 Front and side cover.

Regards
Tommy

I would love button like this. Can you make one for me?

Thanks for the comments fellas! @Niezgodka : I'm confident that soon i can, but remember this isn't a sales thread. As title says, only trying to evaluate if there's need for parts like that. I'll let you all know when i can start producing amounts. Now, this power button needs sanding and cleaning, and painting perhaps.
But here's a few pics of it tested on the A3000 case:

This is my attempt on the A1000 side expansion cover. Can already be of use, needs a little sanding and filing here and there, but will definitely fit.
However, i intend to make a second mold for it even better. Pic shows it next to the original.

As you all understand, this experiment requires time and money, which are both limited. Actually due to health problems right now. But slow pace and patience can make things happen.

Hi, i just might, do you know if the "vertical" 5,25" covers are different from the horizontal one? Have you tried using a regular pc cover instead? Look, even if i reproduced it, it would still need color-matching. Which is not done directly on the mold, but using paint afterwards. I just think a universal 5,25" cover could fit.
I'll try using one on my T next time i'm at the studio and let you know!
