After a short break here with an update to my Amiga Journey! As before if you missed any of the other chapters you can find them at the links below:

Part 4
Part 5
With my return to the scene very much established it was time to put some names to faces.
Zetr0 & r0jaws kindly invited me along to show off my Amiga setups at the 25year Amiga event at Bletchley Park in June 2010.
It was awesome to finally meet these guys and show off my projects. I only managed to attend the Sunday but it was a great event with lots to see and do.
You can see the other pics in my event thread:

Seeing all these awesome setup only spurred me on to further upgrade my machines but my next project was an unexpected one. I started to get the urge to get a big box Amiga, an A4000 was the aim but they seemed pretty rare to get hold of.
Chance would have it though that a kind soul who was emigrating would list their A4000 free to collect on Amibay. I was shocked when I first saw the thread and then noticed that it was also in the South East. I registered my interest right away!
This was what I ended up with:
It was a standard A4000 with EC030 and 4mb Fast Ram. There had been some battery leakage so I removed this right away and cleaned the affected area but as you can see everything seemed to be working fine.
First thing to do was upgrade the Motherboard Fast Ram to 16mb, thankfully my Amibay request was filled almost immediately!
Next on my list was a faster processor board, this gorgeous Apollo 4040 caught my eye and after much negotiation a deal was closed.
I went straight to work fitting this beast in my A4000
Along with a Buddha IDE I picked up to drive my DVDRW drive
Lookin’ good on the old SysInfo:
I also snapped up a nice new TV/Monitor for it and also a DCE Flicker Fixer/Scan Doubler:
My A4000 project was definitely starting to take shape! I’m delighted that I got the opportunity to own this great machine and really enjoyed turning it into something special.
I was very pleased with my first A4000 and it was very clear there was plenty of scope to upgrade further.
But you’ll have to wait till the next chapter!
