Hi all,

First of all I'd like to thank the guys who made this site possible. So happy to have my request granted.
Although not new to the Commodore. I have an A500, an A1200 with gotek and flash card update and an A4000 (Acorn archimedes! Lol)

I have waited many months to find a memory upgrade so that i can use the flash memory to boot from. Recently I bought the memory plus
FPU & Oscillator 40Mhz 68882 and wondered what the fpu can be used for? I take it that this isn't an accelerator card as such?

Could anyone advise how I can get the best use from this chip and what benefits I could see, also if there is anything i need to do other than plug and play?

Many thanks

Steve

Hi there and welcome to the forum!

The FPU can be utilized by raytracers, demos and other applications that require floating point operations. I installed a FPU on my ACA1233n accelerator board just to be able to run more demos.
