Ok guys, and gals..
This project has been in development in way too many years, time to do something about it.. It all started with a temporary solution.. which lasted uuhmm.. 6-7 years I think. then recently I bought the Elbox FastATA Mk3 from blankstare.. time to make the tower permanent.

well.. The first picture makes the tower seem pretty yellow.. it's not. I took the picture without flash..
Devices from the top are.. LS120, CD-Rom, the HDD should go here, the internal floppy drive.
The little devil in the upper right corner is a suvenier from FOSDEM 2010

Pic2: the FastATA ;-) thanks for the trade blankstare

Pic3: the temporary solution.. chaos

Pic4: the collection of hardware, in the lower right corner you can see the FastATA and the old IDEx4 controller
otherwise from top in the left side:
Radeon 9250
Realtek 8029
Soundblaster PCI 128

Right side:
Blizzard PPC 68060@50 / PPC@166 2x32MB Ram
Mediator 1200 TX, it has connector for both ATX and AT power. Using ATX you can attach the ATX powerbutton to the small jumper connector.
It works :)

Pic5: preparing to attach the amigaboard with some old spacers from old pc cabinets.

Pic6: since there is only limited holes in the amiga board, I attached some carbon filt stickers.

Pic7&8: and due to the fact that only 1 screw fit between the cabinet and the amiga board, I made a solution where the spacers keeps the board in place.

Pic9: I needed to keep the board down in the side where all the connecters are located. I just love cable binders..

Pic10: waaarrghh *beeep* *beeeep* *beeeeep* as you can see the FastATA controller conflicts with the PS2/Amiga converter..
For this to work, I'll be needing some ROM riser sockets..

to be continued....

Pic1: Ok, the backplane of the PC tower needs some modification.

Pic2: I need to cut this in half, to be able to reuse the slots for the PCI cards

Pic3: Using a drill machine thingy which has alot of different tools, one for cutting metal

Pic4: The 2 pieces, the blinding plate is easy enough, just reattach it to it's original position..

Pic5: the result after attaching the backplane

Pic6: and a closeup, it's not as good as an original Amiga tower, but works for me

Pic7: I used some of my last pc board spacers to attach the PCI slot backplane, this is more to make the pci cards stable

Since I'm still waiting for my ROM riser sockets, which should arrive next week, I'll end this post, and just say...

To be concluded...

This site is under construction, either make a detour and drive back where you came from, or set up a tent and wait till I'm finished ;-)

Nice setup(y), I would not care about the back at all with that size of tower.. nobody is going to have a look...

i tried with a A1200 and a smaller tower, but failed :(

ah colors is all about white balance, set it on the camera, if it's a good one..(using grey card)

Setting up or pitching a tent is not a good term to use especially with all these hardware pr0n addicts around here lol

I only extracted the pics after a few days, since I hoped to get my rom risers last monday.. at that time I didn't notice the colouring.

I'll make a better picture when the final tower is finished ;-)
